Our Service
Developing your child
We want all our children to have enjoyable, fulfilling and satisfying experiences which are important in creating positive attitudes to learning.
There are three prime areas that are important for inspiring your child's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning: • Communication and Language • Physical Development and • Personal, Social & Emotional Development
There is also Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts & Design with a total of 17 areas of learning in the current EYFS framework.
When your child starts they are assigned a key person who works to bond with them and build a positive relationship. They assess your child and create a Personal Line of Development (PLOD) – a plan which includes relevant activities for your child. Regular observations are made and these are recorded in individual learning journals.
All our work ensures your child has a solid foundation that supports their learning at National Curriculum Key Stage 1 ready to enter Reception.

Here's a taste of what makes us special
Get ready for school
Workshops – where our older children get to participate in structured activities designed to promote independence and confidence preparing them for Reception.
Toilets & Potty Training
Your child’s key person will look after their personal needs. They will change nappies if a child is not already potty trained and support the learning experience of potty training if necessary.
Snack Time
Every child is given their own snack box. They are encouraged to eat from a range of healthy foods including brown bread sandwiches, crackers, breadsticks, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables. All children bring their own named water bottle.
Your Child's First Days
Settling In
Every child is unique and all children have different emotional needs at different stages. Whilst some children are happy to be left with us, others will initially benefit from having a parent or carer present to help settle them. Our policy is to have a parent or close family member stay for at least the first session and more if necessary.
ELKLAN
A Communication Friendly Accreditation awarded to us. ELKLAN was devised to provide more support for children with speech, language and communication needs. How does this work? We work with the children in a variety of ways, which could be a series of workshops, small group and 1:1 activities, using practical and visual strategies.
Activities
In the summer term it’s a chance for everyone to do some fun stuff which could involve any of the following: cooking classes , visits to the park and Living Eggs – a two week programme where eggs are delivered along with an incubator, brooder box, feed and bedding. Children get to experience life cycles, growth and development first hand!
